Mega Picnics in Davis and San Francisco

Davis Picnic Day

If you’re looking for the best, free picnic on the planet, Davis, Calif. is the place to be. The 104th annual Picnic Day takes place Saturday, April, 21, 2018 mostly on the campus of UC Davis and the public is invited to this incredible event. It starts at 8 a.m. with water polo games, but it really gets cooking at 10 a.m. with a big parade that includes over 80 entries such as:

  • Briefcase Brigade
  • Parkside Pirates
  • Community Harvest Marching Pickers
  • Cal Aggie Marching Band-Uh!
  • Wild Bill Tattoo
  • Tian Guo Marching Band
  • Tuleyome Youth Boot Bank milk truck

The Big Picnic in San Francisco

The Big Picnic Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Sigmund Stern Grove, kicks off the 86th annual free concert series in San Francisco. While the Bay Area picnic is a delicious tradition, it’s a ticketed fundraiser to support the free concerts. The public is invited but must buy tickets (sterngrove.org) to attend. After the event the free concert (open to the public) features Peabo Bryson & Jeffrey Osborne.
