Millions of Hollywood tourists see the iconic 160-foot KTLA tower sitting behind a fence on the corner of Sunset and Bronson next to studio facilities for the station. In May 2016 live TV coverage showed police and firefighters responding after a man climbed the tower.

Today, and every day, thousands of tourists stroll the Hollywood Walk of Fame where the station itself, and six individuals associated with KTLA – former owner Gene Autry, newsmen Hal Fishman, George Putnam, Stan Chambers, Larry McCormick, and founding manager Klaus Landsberg – have received stars.

Behind every star is a story and one of the most fascinating stories is about the remarkable Klaus Landsberg, pioneering engineer and genius in creating “must-watch” television. In the book, “Line of Sight: Klaus Landsberg His Life and Vision,” his former wife, Evelyn De Wolfe, described him as part Edison, part P.T. Barnum.
