Three California Beach Things to Do This Winter
Just because it soon will be winter, it doesn’t mean that the fun is over as far as California beaches go. Some of us actually wait for winter to come so we can enjoy California’s beaches as they were meant to be experienced with less crowds equalling more fun. Here are a few winter beach activities you may have overlooked:
1. Watch Surf Contests. Winter is an exciting time for scholastic surfing competitions, in addition to world-renown Mavericks.
2. Ice Skating. Most people don’t think about the beach as a place to ice skate, but California isn’t your typical state.
3. Island hopping. Catalina Island, Channel Islands National Park (pictured) and in San Francisco both Angel Island and Alcatraz Island are islands with eye-popping appeal in the winter months.
