Who’s Jumping for Joy at a California County Fair this week?

  • Angels Camp – Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee May 16-19, 2019
  • Antioch – Contra Costa County Fair May 16-19
  • Orland – Glenn County Fair May 16-19
  • Porterville Fair May 15-19
  • King City – Salinas Valley Fair May 16-19
  • Chowchilla – Madera County Fair May 16-19

Six California fairs are jumping with action this weekend. Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee in Angels Camp attracts huge crowds for much ado about Frogs… from the big jumping contest to The Frog Spa. The winning jumper on International Frog Jump Day (Sunday) has its name immortalized downtown on the Jumping Frog Jubilee walk of fame.

At Glenn County Fair board members offer a “Thank You” this year to volunteers who donated during the nearby Camp Fire in Nov. 2018. Glenn County Fairgrounds served as an evacuation shelter and continues to support those affected through housing RVs on the fair’s property, their fair program says. From the Fair Parade in Downtown Orland to All Alaskan Pig Races, Vintage Tractor and Kids Petal Tractor Pulls, Destruction Derby and more, let the good times roll.

Porterville Fair in Tulare County is billed as one of the last, true community fairs in California. You be the judge!

Contra Costa County Fair in Antioch features plenty of animal acts with K-9 Flying Dogs, Pollywood Bird Show and Wild Turkey Stampede among them.

Salinas Valley Fair in King City begins with a bang when the fireworks are lit on opening night. Join the fun and take advantage of special admission days.

Chowchilla Madera County Fair looks forward to fun and great music this year with country tunes, a “Violin on Fire,” and fantastic CCR tribute all rocking the fairgrounds.
