California Pet People Christmas

Published on: December 10, 2015

  • While it isn’t the Chinese Year of  the Dog, it is always Dog Year in California where people place their pets on pedestals, literally!  Pictured is San Diego Gaslamp Quarter’s Pet Holiday Parade taking place on December 13, 2015 at 3 p.m. from MLK Promenade Park. Best Pet Costume non-dog categories include cats, birds, bunnies and well-behaved ‘whatevers’. See gaslmap.org
  • On the same weekend you and your pets are invited to the free admission Los Angeles Pet Winter Wonderland (holidaypetexpo.com) on Dec. 12 & 13 at L.A. Convention Center. The company that produces this event is heading for San Jose, San Diego and Pomona in early 2016 so pet owners throughout California can enjoy the fun!
  • And don’t forget that there are still opportunities for Santa Pet Portraits this weekend.
  • For those who would rather spare themselves the expense of pet ownership, when you visit the Zoo Lights festivals this year, donate a little extra cash to feed an Orangutan, Tamarin, or Capuchin for good luck in 2016, the Year of the Monkey!
