Veteran statistics:
California is home to 1,851,470 veterans
1,387,510 have served in war time
463,960 served in peace time
9 out of 10 vets are men
The majority served in Viet Nam, then the Gulf War, Korean War, and finally, there are less than 90,000 surviving vets of WWII. The majority serving in WWII exceed 90 years in age.
