Fascinating Churchill Exhibit at Queen Mary
The newest attraction at Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif. features actual artifacts, including furniture. There also are exact reproductions of Churchill War Rooms, Cabinet Rooms, Mapping areas, photographs and even videos (you can sit and watch) in the Queen’s E Deck stern. Many of these reproductions are from the 2017 Universal Pictures/Focus Features’ Movie, “The Darkest Hour.” They provide the visitor with the real feel of returning to the dangerous days of WWII. Exploring the exhibition on our recent visit to experience the ship’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, we were reminded of what a treasure this historic vessel is. Not only does it offer a glimpse into the past with its popular tours and attractions, it also provides fun entertainment and many surprises throughout the seasons.
