Cozy Up and Scream at Film Festivals

This is the season of screaming. Whether you scream with fright at the Los Angeles Screamfest Film Festival, or scream with delight at Redding Silent Film Festival movie, The Unholy Three  featuring Lon Chaney, Halloween is the perfect time to watch flicks ranging from classic black & white silent films to horror thrillers. Here are few tantalizing bits for the weekend lineup, just a few California’s delightful film festivals!

LA SCREAMFEST – over 55 films Oct. 13-22, 2015

  • DON’T LET THEM IN – A struggling author, consumed with the urban legend of the Black Eyed Kids, fears his obsession has led their evil to his door.
  • GAME CHANGER: THE LEGACY OF SAW – film takes you behind the scenes, as cast and crew reveal the stories behind the movie that launched the most successful horror franchise in movie history.  Q&A at this FREE Screening!
  • THE POND – a poetic horror story, set in the early 1900’s, about a young girl who tries to unravel the mystery of the dark pond behind her parents’ house.

REDDING SILENT FILM FEST Oct. 16-18, 2015

  • THE UNHOLY THREE – Lon Chaney as Prof. Echo, is a carnival ventriloquist who dons a disguise and gets wrapped up in a bizarre robbery scheme and murder.
  • SAFETY LAST – Retail clerk Harry Lamb, played by Harold Lloyd, is caught in a series of fibs. He tries to escape the lies and ends up dangling above the city streets, hanging to a building clock hand.
  • THE BIG PARADE – follows three men to the battlefields of France and the horrors and waste of war.
