MIDWAY CITY, CALIF. — In celebration of Easter children were recently provided a day of fun, games and great BBQ away from the worries and anxieties of being homeless. The nonprofit American Family Housing hosted its 13th annual Easter celebration at the Brother’s of St. Patrick Monastery with 75 volunteers joyfully cooking, assisting with games and distributing fantastic Easter Baskets filled with chocolate bunnies, candy eggs and lots of goodies. More than 30,000 homeless have been assisted by the organization since 1985 and many of the clients served, end up becoming volunteers to help others. In August American Family Housing (afhusa.org) produces a summer beach BBQ festival called Ribs, Pigs and Watermelons.

Partners supporting the Easter event include:

LDS Church of Huntington Beach
Four Winds Aviation
Knights of Columbus
LaQuinta High School Key Club
Rancho Alamitos High School Key Club and Red Cross
