Egocentric Los Angeles Barely Makes Top 20 Tourist List

When you live and breathe L.A.’s popular tourist attractions such as Hollywood and Venice Beach, you feel like you ARE the center of the Universe. Look at all the crowds of international tourists who come big-eyed, snapping lots of pictures! But in the world scene, Los Angeles barely squeaked onto the 20 Most Visited Cities list, beat out by places such as Bangkok, Milan, Dubai, Singapore, London and Paris. Recently released data in 2013 with official visitor numbers found Bangkok, Thailand is the most popular city in the world for international visitors with 15.8 million tourists coming to spend the night during a year’s time. Bangkok’s population is over 8 million and the city spans more than 600 sq. miles.
Only two U.S. cities made the Top 20 list. New York ranked #5 with 11.52 million visitors, while Los Angeles came in at #20 with 4.84 million visitors. See the Top 20 rankings globally…>
