Exceptional Seafood Celebrations
There are seafood festivals throughout the year in California but summer tends to be more about BBQ beef and pork cooked on the grill. Seafood lovers will be glad to know that there are some great events to help you get your fix. This weekend the Chula Vista Harbor Fest with its Sustainable Seafood focus is a free outdoor event in the San Diego area. Next weekend Bodega Seafood Art & Wine Festival continues the celebration of dining on sustainable seafood at their annual event held on a farm 65 miles north of San Francisco. Salmon lovers have several months of festivals to anticipate beginning this weekend with the Yurok Tribe’s annual Salmon Festival in Klammath. The free event includes a parade, car show, hundreds of vendors, music and salmon cooked on an outdoor grill over open flames. Klammath is approx. 65 miles north of Eureka on the Redwood coast. While there are many culinary events in California that include seafood, these three summer celebrations are quite special.
