Three Powerful Pow Wows take place this weekend in California, public invited.

  • When there’s thunder & lighting, people snap to attention. This weekend  Morongo Thunder & Lightning Pow Wow in Cabazon  September 25-27, 2015 includes powerful music, drum beats and costumes, attracting dancers from around the country. Based at the AAA four-diamond Morongo Casino Resort & Spa near Palm Springs, it offers a luxury setting for visitors.
  • The pope’s momentous and first-ever visit to the U.S. this week has been a topic of discussion for Junipero Serra pro and anti-canonization advocates who see the Spanish influence on Native Americans in far different lights.  The pow wow is a time to set aside concerns and share in the joy, honor and respect for cultural traditions passed down from one generation to the next.  In Bishop the Pabanamanina PowWow and Indian Days at Paiute Palace Casino takes place Sept. 25-27.
  • At Cal State University Bakersfield on Sept. 26 & 27 the inaugural Tejon Indian Tribe Pow Wow invites the public to celebrate!
