John Poimiroo’s Fall Color Report 2019 has included photos from some ‘boots on the ground’ explorers who have documented the beauty that surrounds us in California. Pictured left to right: Puss & Boots riding in the basket of bicycle at North Lake – North Fork Bishop; Yosemite’s Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias; and Klamath River in Siskiyou County.
The publisher of CaliforniaFallColor.com is highly sought for his expertise and data gathering & reporting of this annual, lesser known transformation (compared to East Coast fall foliage.) As October 2019 comes to a close, Poimiroo summarizes the current situation in his Oct.31 report:
“This past week, strong winds stripped many trees of their peak color across California. However, the autumn show has not ended. Though the vibrance of the color has been diminished by the winds and smoky air, the effect is temporary. Trees that had not yet turned or which were not affected by the winds or smoke will continue to peak and remain vibrant in weeks to come.”
