Do you have one of those dogs that nobody wanted? Maybe you rescued a pooch deemed not worth saving. Does your dog leave people speechless? You may have an award-winner in the annual Sonoma Marin County Fair World’s Ugliest Dog Contest on June 23, 2018. And just to be clear — these canines aren’t looking for pity, nor are their owners. The event is designed to celebrate lovable pets.

When the competition first began 30 some years ago, there was so much amazing press surrounding the event that several years worth of winning dogs actually were trademarked by their owners for promotional purposes, and appearances on television and special events. The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest is just one of many great contests, concerts and events at fair this week.
