This weekend in Grass Valley the annual Nevada County Sustainable Food and Farm Conference (foodandfarmconference.com) takes place. Keynote speakers include: Eliot Coleman, Author of The New Organic Grower and Four Season Harvest; Mark Shepard, CEO of Forest Agriculture Enterprises, a 106 acre sustainable food forest; and Jim Hightower, National radio commentator and previously a Texas Ag Commissioner. There are many educational events and expos this year. Here are a few:
