There are dozens of film festivals in California, including the Catalina Silent Film Festival which takes place on May 21, 2016 at the regal Avalon Casino Theatre (pictured.) California may have lost on-location filming due to cheaper prices and lower license fees elsewhere, but the large number of film festivals in the state is a testament to California’s reputation as the Entertainment Capital. If there’s a subject you can think of, there may be a festival devoted to the it. Here are a few examples:
