  • The Artichoke Center of the World hosts the 58th Annual Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival June 3 & 4, 2017, with an artichoke eating contest, agro-art vegetables transformed into objects, field tours, and our favorite — the Artichoke Canasta Competition. Contestants test their skills in accurately throwing picked artichokes into the baskets (canastas) on their backs. Bands, chefs demos and wine round out the good times.
  • Hot Air Balloon and Wine Festival: Temecula, Southern California’s award-winning wine growing region, is celebrated annually in a lakeside festival June 2-4, 2017 featuring music, wine tasting and balloon launches.
  • Pony Express Days: McKinleyville on California’s Redwood Coast celebrates the brief but famed 19th century Pony Express that traveled between the Midwest and California. Young (mostly single) men took the dangerous assignment to deliver mail on horseback. Pony Express Day May 31-June 4, 2017 games capture the flavor of the Old West with many equestrian challenges.
  • Pow Wow Days: Orangevale Pow Wow Days Festival and Parade June 1-4, 2017 began in 1963 as Chuck Wagon Days. The entire city comes out to celebrate.
  • Union Street Festival: San Francisco is ALL about street festivals and they often reflect the name of the street where they take place. Union Street Festival June 3-4, 2017 invites the public to come out and experiences six blocks of eclectic Union Street.
