Don’t Be A Pig at Food Fests

Question: How do they get pigs to race at fairs? Answer: The pigs get to eat at the end of the race.
- Pigs saved from fire served as sausage to rescuing firefighters: British farmer Rachel Rivers recently thanked firefighters who rescued her litter of piglets and two sows from a barn fire in February by giving them sausages made out of the animals. “I gave those animals the best quality of life I could ever give until the time they go to slaughter, and they go into the food chain,” she said.
Food festivals such as San Diego’s Bacon Fest on Sept.2, are meant to be relished. It’s OK to go hog wild with enthusiasm — just don’t be a pig!
