Goin’ Down to South Park, Gonna Have Myself a Time in San Diego

Published on: March 04, 2012

“I’m goin’ down to South Park, gonna have myself a time. Goin’ down to South Park, gonna leave my woes behind.”

San Diego’s South Park might fit the first few lines of lyrics from the opening song of popular TV cartoon series, South Park. But the REAL South Park expands on the concept of good times, hosting events that bring people out to mingle and mix on San Diego’s  famously pleasant nights.  An eclectic neighborhood in the heart of California’s 2nd largest city is home to unique dining, shopping, arts and entertainment showcased in seasonal Walkabouts where visitors are welcomed at independently-owned stores, galleries, boutiques and restaurants in South Park!

Spring Walkabout on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 6 to 10 p.m. invites you to a free Wild West themed event with  receptions in shops such as “make good.”, live music and even a walking tour at 6:30 p.m. for those who want to discover the region from an insider’s perspective. You’re invited to gather at the Info Table on Juniper St. for 6:30p.m. tour departure.

Shops will be open late, music will fill the air, there will be samples and refreshments galore and Beech Street eateries will be serving up the Buckaroo BBQ! A free trolley will run from Juniper to Grape to Beech St. in San Diego. If you miss the Spring Walkabout, you can still see three more throughout the year, and Old House Fair on June 16, 2012.
