Helping Throwaway Kids

While an estimated 500,000 youth in the U.S. are homeless, the statistics don’t tell the whole story. Some of the children are unwanted and have become “throw-aways”, like yesterday’s trash. It’s one of the saddest situations to know that among the wealth and privilege seen in California, many innocent children are ignored and abused. A special event fundraiser on March 21, 2015, 6 p.m. at the LAX Westin Hotel has been organized by a nonprofit in association with Loyola Marymount University Internship Program, El Camino College Teen Program, Professional Social Workers, and local politicians. Aisha Academy is working to generate sufficient funding to begin relocating as many Los Angeles area homeless children as possible to a safe, cruelty-free, and resourceful environment where they will be able to secure a better quality of life.
