Starting this week on October 26, 2019 California’s holiday home tour season begins in San Francisco with the annual Home Tour featuring elegant private residences in Presidio Heights. The event touts “25 Years of Tradition” as a major fundraiser for Junior League SF.

Next week the good deeds continue in La Mesa Nov.2 at Historic Home Tour featuring Mediterranean to Modern Architecture in La Mesa Highlands. This is a fundraiser for La Mesa History.

In Los Angeles there’s a  Holiday Home Tour Nov.3, where ticket holders can see five distinctive houses in Westchester and Playa del Rey, including a four-story bluff home with ocean, marina and city views decorated for Christmas; a two-story home with expansive ocean views decked out in Halloween decor; a two-story Kentwood home celebrating New Years; a two-story Mediterranean home for Christmas; and a bungalow with guest house both prepared for a Thanksgiving pool party. The event is a fundraiser for Westchester Mental Health Guild.

Other November events are hosted in Ojai, Tustin and Temecula, as well as Hearst Castle’s Holiday Twilight Tours in San Simeon. The money you spend on tickets, merchandise, food and sponsorships typically supports hospital services, health care, community enhancement, families in need, history, etc. While not everyone is into checking out houses, castles & estates, there are opportunities to make donations.

These seasonal showcases of architecture, art & decor peak in early December (Dec.5-8, 2019,) with around 25 home tours throughout California scheduled for the first weekend!

On our list this year we’re hoping to make it to the Balboa Island Home Tour, but we’d also like to hop on a boat to Catalina to see the grand Wrigley home, Holiday Open House at Mt. Ada.
