In California You Don’t Have to Dream of White Christmas

Published on: December 05, 2012

Pity the poor child who has never experienced the joy of snow. Millions of children in California never have, believe it or not! Yet those with the means to make Christmas Dreams a reality can pack the kids up and head for the mountains for an incredible holiday that’s extremely old-fashioned, and family focused. Similarly, young adults on college break or singles can have the time of their life experiencing the white stuff.

The snow guarantee isn’t hard to fulfill this year…but finding reservations may be. The preferred accommodations are condo, home and cabin rentals. The online websites have the rental system down to a science listing prices and availability. We’re in the peak season now if you head for mountain vacation hot spots that include Mammoth Lakes, Lake Tahoe and Big Bear Lake (in Southern California.) Though Big Bear Lake gets less snow and has to make theirs when storms are lacking, you’re good to go right now. Bundle up, bring the boots, hats and gloves, and give your family a gift that if nothing else, offers change from the dry desert landscape that much of California is accustomed to seeing on a daily basis!

MOUNTAIN ACTIVITIES: Skiing, Boarding, Ice Skating, Sledding, Tubing, Snowmobiling, Snow Fights, Cross Country Ski, Ice Climbing, Dining, Dancing, Music, Fireplaces galore! Gambling, Casinos, Great Floor Shows (in Tahoe area – Stateline, Nevada)
