LA Marathon
If you don’t like crowds be sure to avoid parts of Los Angeles and Santa Monica this weekend when 26,000 runners take to the streets for the LA Marathon (lamarathon.com), sold out for the third straight year. Runners from all 50 U.S. states and from 55 countries are signed up to compete in one of the Top 5 races in the country. The course begins at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, March, 15, 2015, at 6:55 a.m. and ends next to the Santa Monica Pier in this “Stadium to the Sea” race course. 44 high energy bands perform along the race route as thousands of spectators and volunteers cheer on. The stakes are high! The 2015 ASICS LA Marathon features 90 elite athletes, including 73 Americans in pursuit of the 2015 USA Track & Field Marathon Championships title. Last year the event raised more than $3.7 million for charities.
