LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — Little Tokyo’s Nisei Week Festival Parade takes place on August 16, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. starting at 2nd & Central Ave. Costumes, bands, military units, dance, song, animated characters such as Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse, and beauty queens grace the 75th annual event which has a special parade float. Hand made in Tokyo by a well known artist is a float made of wood, special colored paper, and hundreds of LED lights featuring a Nebuta. Other festival events include the World Gyoza Eating Championship on Aug. 22 at the Japanese American Cultural Center.
