Lou Ferrigno, Incredible Inspiration

Lou Ferrigno (right photo)  is known for his 6’5″ tall stature and muscular physique. Participants will have a chance to meet the legend once known as “The Incredible Hulk” at his Ferrigno Legacy competition in Santa Barbara Nov. 28 & 29, 2014. Hosted by Lou Ferrigno in partnership with the promoter of the NPC/IFBB Tahoe Show, the Ferrigno Fitness & Bodybuilding Festival  promises the production and polish second only to the fantastic physiques that will grace the contest stage at the historic Granada Theatre. Registration is open for the contest, though most will just want to watch the show. Tickets are available at granadasb.org

ABOUT THE INCREDIBLE LOU FERRIGNO

Quoting Socrates, Lou Ferrigno agrees with this philosphy:  “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”

  • Lou Ferrigno was born on Nov. 9, 1951 and was raised in Brooklyn, New York as the son of a police lieutenant.
  • With 75% hearing loss and childhood diagnosis, Ferrigno lets film and production crews know so they will understand his special challenges.
  • Ferrigno was a sheet metal worker for three years, but gained fame competing against Arnold Schwarzenegger, seen in the the Pumping Iron documentary (1975).
  • Ferrigno is married with three adult children. His wife, Carla, and he have acted as next door neighbors in the TV show, King of Queens.
  • Ferrigno and daughter Shanna Ferrigno are co-founders of Ferrigno FIT health and fitness program.
  • As a trainer Ferrigno worked with Michael Jackson in the 1990s and was preparing the singer for his 2009 “This is It” London show that never occurred due to Jackson’s death.
