Maritime History Relived in 19 California Museums

From an historic iron hulled sailing vessel to sleak military battleships, California stands tall and proud when it comes to celebrating its nautical heritage. Ships brought the first Spanish settlers to this new land, and hundreds of years later ships are as important to California as ever. If you have the opportunity to visit a maritime museum, don’t hesitate to “take the plunge” and get your feet wet, learning about the sea and the vessels that have called it “home”.
