Newport Beach Field of Honor 11 Day Memorial

1,776 American flags on a hill overlooking the Newport Harbor are strategically placed by volunteers each year the week or so before Memorial Day. Opened on May 18, 2018, the public is invited to attend this free event and ceremonies on May 19 at Noon and May 28 at Noon.
Field of Honor is a moving Memorial Tribute remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. The federal Memorial Day holiday, always on the last Monday in May, is when the Field of Honor finishes its 11-day run. Produced by all-volunteer Newport Beach Exchange Club, it is but one of hundreds of events throughout California held on or close to Memorial Day.
