No Goofing Around on Christmas Day

Goofing around is not allowed for most everyone working and being paid on Christmas Day — with one exception. If he doesn’t goof off, Goofy’s NOT doing his job. From the candy maker to Zamboni driver, lifeguard at your hotel pool to the flight attendant helping get you to your destination, the employees of some companies are required to work so you can goof off on Christmas and have fun.  For those who find themselves all alone or wallowing in self-pity in what psychologists declare potentially the most depressing holiday of the year, you can chase away the blues by getting a job, volunteering in a soup kitchen, visiting people in need at nursing homes and hospitals, or diving into a mini-vacation. Book a room at a hotel with a fantastic swimming pool and take a dive on Christmas Day. See a theme park on your way. Catch a fireworks display. And last but not least, thank someone who’s working so you can have a great day. Life is good in the neighborhood when you take time to goof around.
