Over 300 Cities Celebrate National Night Out in California

Published on: August 05, 2012

National Night Out, now in its 29th year in 2012, expects over 37 million people to participate in the one day, annual event held Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Neighborhood lights-on porch parties, cookouts, vigils and community or city sponsored events bring people together, often to learn about available resources. Local police departments and city works agencies set up display booths, fire engines for the kids to see, and Target, a national sponsor, even gives away free hot dogs and snacks in some places.  Here is a list of cities in California signed up to participate in the program organized by the National Association of Town Watch (natw.org).
