I was first introduced to Pacific Grove on my honeymoon. My spouse and I did trade out, writing a feature story with photos in exchange for accommodations at a hotel next to the Monarch butterfly grove. I fell in love with Pacific Grove and it’s been a life-long affair that never grows old. From strolls and bike rides along the waterfront to hotel stays with deer grazing on the lawns outside your room Pacific Grove isn’t exactly a hidden gem because so many people know about it. But it’s always been my go-to place for relatively affordable beach accommodations and the chance to relax. This weekend there will be many diversions for tourists (this is a tourist town, no question about it,) such as 70 bands performing on the streets, 200 vendors selling art, food and other essentials. And, the fresh air and spectacular beaches always within reach are free, just like festival. Good Old Days celebration takes place April 11 & 12, 2015.
