An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so they say. But how you get that apple delivered to you body is key to good health. At Gravenstein Apple Fair (the Sweetest Little Fair in Sonoma County,) you may have to work at the task. One contest requires you to eat your apples in a pie with no fork, spoon, or hands. It’s basically pie in your face and if you manage to eat it all up, you’re a winner, one way or another. The annual festival of apple fun takes place August 8 & 9, 2015 at Ragle Ranch, public invited. An admission fee is charged but there’s plenty of entertainment to make it worth the trip. Bands perform, contests take place all day and there is also an educational element with demos of cow milking, sheep shearing and backyard chickens and backyard goats. Good times straight ahead! This apple festival is one of the first of the apple harvest season. It’s one of our favorite fruit harvests in all of California!
