Ready for Ramona

California’s Official Outdoor Pageant, Ramona, has a fresh, new look when the horses come galloping out of the Hemet hills on April 18, 2015. With the help of Hollywood film producer Steven Savage the romantic drama based on an 1884 fictional novel by Helen Hunt Jackson has been shortened by 20 minutes (to 2 hours) and modernized.  While maintaining the story line and popular elements–fiesta dancing, cowboy entrances and young Rock Indians–the audience can expect more excitement and drama than ever before. The volunteers who produce this 92-year-old pageant think the changes are going to double the attendance to around 4,000 this year. Six performances are produced on three weekends in April & May, and there are still tickets available.  Among the actresses who have played Ramona: Raquel Welsh, Mary Pickford and Loretta Young.
