Labor Day Weekend can be a rush from the moment you hop into your car and head out on the highway to make that last dash (trip) grabbing each fleeting moment before it disappears. There’s no place with quite so much “rush” as Old Sacramento on this holiday weekend when the Pony Express gallops into town for Gold Rush Days. The annual festival held on Labor Day weekend  includes cannon firing, a river cruise, Pony Express re-enactments and the squatter’s riots.
