Science of Ginger Bread

Published on: November 25, 2012

SANTA ANA, CALIF. – Discovery Science Center asks, “How cute is this Gingerbread village?” Gingerbread creations for DSC’s 7th Annual Science of Gingerbread Competition can be dropped off until Nov. 26, 2012 in an exciting, hands-on gingerbread event that is “Science in Every Bite!” Explore gingerbread from baking to building it. Inside the kitchen, much more is going on than pouring and mixing – it is science at work! How many gumdrops can a frosted cookie hold? Why do some recipes call for baking powder instead of baking soda? Discovery Science Center’s Science of Gingerbread exhibition, features science activities, decorating demonstrations and award-winning gingerbread houses on display. Who knew science could be so tasty? Each year the center offers a free gingerbread contest & competition. Winning houses go on display for approx. one month. Participants are usually invited to a Gingerbread Holiday Kick-Off Party in early December.

Discovery Science Center 2500 N. Main St. Santa Ana, CA 92705 Tel: 714-542-2823 discoverycube.org. Other annual events include the funtastic Bubblefest.
