SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. — A floor-to-ceiling winter wonderland, complete with snow flurries, caroling, Scuba Santa, festive programs, and Willow and Yukon—a pair of live, 6-year-old reindeer, aren’t exactly what you’d expect to see during a visit to San Francisco. Most tourists are looking to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, The Crookedest Street, Cable Car rides and Ghirardelli Square. Through Jan. 4, 2015 California Academy of Sciences invites guests into the Snowman Theater to learn how reindeer “Nomads of the North” cross icy rivers and find food in the harsh Arctic winters. See real reindeer, watch Scuba Santa daily till Christmas, and enjoy live musical entertainment through Jan. 4. See calacademy.org
