Held at Folsom Historic Powerhouse the free event includes amazing people and displays. Meet the Electric Guy who’s full of energy and discover what’s so special about this really old place. The 1895 plant was one of the oldest hydroelectric facilities in the world and one of the nation’s first power systems to transmit high-voltage alternating current over long distances. July 13, 1895 was certainly a day to remember — the energy created at Folsom Powerhouse lit street lamps 22 miles away in Sacramento, paving the way for what became a brighter tomorrow.
