Surf City Paintball Open April 4-6, 2014 in Huntington Beach takes to the beach for paint madness.

Just because you’re sitting behind a splatter guard watching a paintball game, it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get splashed with red, yellow, orange and blue paint.  In fact, if you attend one of these games it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll walk away with some paint on you.  The annual paintball “open” in which teams from around the nation register to participate takes the sand on Huntington’s City Beach for three days of competition play-offs, vendor sales and paintball pin-up girls signing posters and pictures. Although “HB” seems like an unlikely choice for a paintball tournament (not a paintball park for miles around,) the hoteliers discovered back in 2003 that when the city hosted this event for the first time the hotel rooms were nearly 100% booked. That’s something that rarely happens in March & April. So 11 years later the city renewed this paintball event’s contract for 3 more years of festivals. When the hotels are sold out, everybody’s happy!
