St. Patrick’s Day Irish Dance – You CAN Do It!

Published on: March 14, 2012

While many will be kicking up their heels, drinking & dancing in bars on  St. Patrick’s Day, wouldn’t it be something if you  knew real Irish dancing? In this fantasy you would step out onto the dance floor like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, and the crowd would stand back, watching in amazement as you and your partner Riverdanced your way into popularity and new-found fame.

There will be drinkers & revelers fogging their way through bars and tripping over their own two feet, but the  stage is the “thing” that will shine with all those kids showing off their fancy Irish dance steps their parents have spent thousands of dollars in lessons to teach them (not to mention the expensive costumes and curly hair that the girls wear)!  Among the dance shows that you can enjoy is an annual St. Patrick’s  Day Celebration at Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa. With a coupon you can get in free. Here’s an Irish dance video from last year’s event.

Irish dance schools are everywhere in California, and they also have adult Irish dance classes! It’s never too late to teach an Old Dog new tricks–so if you do one thing this year that’s totally out of character, sign up for an Irish dance lesson and see if you can handle the challenge! Here are some Irish Dance Schools in California to help you begin planning your new career!
