Stanford has always been the local mecca for classical concerts, baroque music, and fine entertainment in Silicon Valley. Under the name “Stanford Lively Arts” it was just the sort of place that deserved a dedicated concert space to honor great music, world class talents, and provide over a million residents in the surrounding area opportunities to listen and watch live performances in a vibrant setting. Bing Concert Hall opened on Jan. 11, 2013, with a new concert series name, Stanford Live, and many SOLD OUT concerts through March-May.

The unique 360° seating described as vineyard format that rings the stage, includes center-section seating beginning on the same level as the stage. Sightlines from all angles and the premier Nagata Acoustics legend Dr. Yasuhisa Toyota, whose projects include Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, have instantly placed “Bing” on the A-list of things to see and do. Those wanting to hear the Stanford Symphony Orchestra perform should look and book at the first opportunity. There’s little or no chance you’ll get to watch Cellist Yo-Yo Ma perform on Jan. 27, but if it’s any consolation, his concert would have been sold out, Bing Concert Hall or not!   See: live.stanford.edu
