Stars Wars: The Force Awakens on Hollywood Blvd.

Starting last week cars came to a halt, traffic backed up for miles and ticket lines on Hollywood Blvd. wrapped around the block. It might have been just another movie release but this one is BIG!  “Star War: The Force Awakens” premiers to VIPs and the media on Dec. 14, 2015, with four blocks of Hollywood Blvd. closed and a giant tent erected for the unveiling of the Disney and Lucasfilm. The Dolby (home to the Oscars), El Capitan Theater and the TCL Chinese Theater — may all host the celebrity showings — which the public gets to watch several days later, beginning on Dec. 16 internationally and Dec 18. in the U.S. Select Fandango theaters are holding a Star Wars marathon on Dec. 17 leading up to the public release.

Expected to earn of $1-3 billion, the 135-minute sequel to their 1977 blockbuster “Star Wars” film returns with fresh, young talents and original cast members Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa.  Star Wars creator George Lucas sold Lucasfilm franchise rights to The Walt Disney Company in 2012.
