Super Bowl Runs in California

Bakersfield’s got the runs — a delightful Bakersfield Pirate 5K Booty Run, as a matter of fact. The event takes place on Sat. Feb.1, 2020, at The Park at Riverwalk — so you don’t miss out on game action during Super Bowl Sunday.

The Sonora Sunrise Rotary in Chinese Camp is back with their Oriental Express also on Super Bowl Saturday this year. It’s a 2-fer where you can celebrate Lunar New Year and Super Bowl with a refreshing 1 or 4 mile run. Right on!

Huntington Beach hosts the Surf City Marathon on Super Bowl day with nearly the same race course they’ve had for several decades. It goes along Pacific Coast Highway (road closure) overlooking the Pacific Ocean between the city’s luxury hotels and Seapoint Street next to Dog Beach and Bolsa Chica State Beach. It turns inland there and makes a trip through Central Park.

Sacramento sees the return of the Jed Smith Ultra 50K/50 Mile Run on Saturday, Feb.1, as well as another event, Super Sunday 5K/10K Run at Sac State on Super Sunday.

In Thousand Oaks the Nun Run returns with the Sisters of Notre Dame on Feb.1. Watch your language! Have wholesome fun.

In San Francisco at Golden Gate Park the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon & 5K is back on Feb.2, 2020.

In San Diego it’s the return of the Hungry Dog Dash at Liberty Station Feb. 2 in a Point Loma High School sponsored event.

San Jose has 408K Race to the Row Feb.2, plus Super Guadalupe River Run 1K, 5K, 10K on the same day.

Carlsbad, Chino, Fresno and Fountain Valley, Redondo Beach, Visalia, and Madera’s Fruit Run all offer great sports activity, fun in the sun (or rain) and a great way to start your day on Super Bowl Sunday Weekend.
