Thanksgiving in the California Jungle

It’s a jungle out there and no place is the saying more true than at California’s zoos this Thanksgving. At Santa Barbara Zoo (pictured) guests are invited on Thanksgiving Day to watch fish, snakes, elephants, birds, leopards and other creatures being fed their turkey feast. At San Francisco Zoo the turkeys have been photographed getting a reprieve on Thanksgiving Day, while Santa Barbara Zoo shows a video on their site of a very large feline making mincemeat of a headless, skinned turkey. Nature can be so graphic. If you’re not doing anything this Thanksgiving, most zoos are open and you can rest assured that the animals are well fed.
