CALIFORNIA BEACH PHOTOS–A few assorted beach pictures include a girl with yellow bucket at Shell Beach on the Central Coast; girls and boys at Salt Creek Beach near Dana Point, and kayakers at Descanso Beach on Catalina Island. With 1,000 miles of beaches to enjoy and more free coastal access than nearly any other place on the planet, California’s glorious beaches are a gift.  If you’re wondering how to give them to loved ones this holiday season, there are several ways you can assure a smile will appear on the face of a recipient.

  • Gifts from or for the sea: Swimsuits, swim shorts, t-shirts, hoodies, beach towels, beach sand chairs, Abalone lamps, jewelry, wind chimes or packages of seashells
  • Seafood dinners at fine or affordable restaurants
  • Boat rides – to see whales, go fishing, take harbor tours, visit Alacatraz, Catalina Island
  • Beach parking pass – the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year
  • Sports – surfing, sailing, fishing, swimming
  • Amusements – Santa Monica, San Francisco, San Diego and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
  • Day at the beach – take a friend and show them a good time with a bonfire, s’mores and all!
  • Beach hotel accommodations – sleep to the sound of waves on a pier hotel (Crystal Pier San Diego), cliff (Laguna Beach to Point Arena) or right on the beach (Coronado, Crystal Cove)
