Weekend Forecast: Peaches, Melon, Citrus
Three fantastic fruit festivals offer a weekend of sunshine and smiles. Pucker up at Santa Paula’s Citrus Festival where there’s a parade, citrus-eating contest and hot air balloons. The watermelon is sweet, juicy and drips all over the place at the Watermelon Festival taking place at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl. Contests range from eating melon to spitting seeds. Culinary carving demonstrations will abound as guests marvel at the beauty, taste and healthy benefits of consuming America’s summertime fruit of choice. In Marysville visitors to the perfect Peach Festival will touch the fuzzy-skinned fruit, smell and sample this year’s fresh offerings. Peach desserts will include peach pies, ice cream and cobbler. The forecast is looking great for festival go-ers!
