Zoltar Speaks, You Listen – Fortune Teller Fascination in California

He is programmed to say 16 different  predictions, though the machine has capability to change the messages, change voices, and a person can even speak from a remote microphone to interact with Zoltar’s clients.

Californians want to know the future. They want it now, and they want it more than any other place in the United States. Psychics to the stars can earn big bucks when the word spreads that they’re “authentic”, but for every psychic that gains favor with star clients, there are a thousand more who are answering telephones and trying to get you to stay on line so they can rack up bigger fees. Why not buy advice on the cheap with Zoltar, the mechanical fortune teller you’ll see around most tourist attractions?  Though it’s said that Zoltar got his start with the Tom Hanks movie, BIG, Zoltar has been around longer than the 1980s movie.
