Carlsbad's Beach Community comes together for the 4th annual Carlsbad Beach Fest. The event is totally   free and offers celebrates this recreation paradise through a fun day of activities supporting beach stewardship. Designed to highlight this coastal playground as an irreplaceable resource, exciting beach and water activities at Carlsbad Beach Fest include music, food, water activities, a competitive run, and something for all ages.

One Mile of activities & attractions include Low Tide Beach Run Blast on the sand at Tamarack Beach at 8 a.m., then Low Tide Beach Walk and Kids One Mile Fun Run.

Multiple Stages with Bands, Drum Groups, Dance Troups, & other Live Entertainment includes  four performance stages erected on the sand, providing live entertainment all day; headlined by multiple bands such as The Professors,  Paddy’s Pig,  Varua Tahiti e’, Fula Bula, Jerome Dawson & Wazabe Blue. Hula hoops, jugglers, local celebrity appearances, and  many stage activities are included in a full day of entertainment.

Sports Clinics in a variety of beach sports

Beach Yoga, Zumba, and Lifeguard Rescue Demonstrations, Interactive Educational Booths, Green Vendor Display Booths offering free samples and information, Artists Exhibits, kids sand sculpting, face painting, and Kite Flying in which you are invited to bring your own kite and compete for a prize.

Gigantic Sand Sculpting by U.S. Open Champions, Archisand

U.S. Open Champions, Archisand, returns to the event to sculpt and build a gigantic sand sculpture to reflect this year’s theme, Recreation Paradise through Good Beach Stewardship. Artists and authors will participate displaying and demonstrating their works and related mediums.

Over 50 Food & Beverage Vendors at Food Court

Water, sodas, beverages, iced treats, snacks, sandwiches and a variety of foods will be sold at the event. Bring your money.

Beach Run /Walk and Recreation Events

A first time ever 5kLow Tide Beach Run Blast!! along with a 5kLow Tide Walk and a Kids One Mile Fun Run, will kick off the day’s festivities, with Carlsbad Mayor, Matt Hall at the Start Line. Free Sports Clinics and Demos in Paddle Board, Kayaking, Surfing, Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and Kite Flying are some of the organized events for families and individuals to participate in, along with Zumba Fitness and Yoga on the sand. AVP Pro Volleyball players will provide an entertaining King and Queen of the Beach Tournament on the courts at Frazee Beach.

An Under Water Clean-Up lead by Dive Teams from Sea Life Aquarium and Ocean Enterprises along with 100 local divers from local diving organizations. 9-11am!  Hundreds of Volunteers  organized by CA State Parks and San Diego Coast Keeper, will encompass 3 miles of beach and surrounding streets, giving hundreds of people opportunity to service to their community through participation in a massive beach clean-up from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Education Expo

Interactive educational booths provide avenues to continue stewardship of our environment. More than 20 organizations provide fun, hands-on activities and information for children and adults, allowing for a better understanding of the importance of coastal and inland waterway stewardship. Lifeguard rescue demonstrations are also a highlight to the expo.

Green Product Awareness

Businesses which have adopted principles, policies, and practices that improve the quality of life for their customers, their employees, communities, and the environment are invited to this year’s event. They will demonstrate how their products or services allow for economic development while conserving for future generations.

8   -  5K Run starts and ends at Tamarack
8   -  Bands & Music on all 4 stages along beach ending at 3pm (schedule will be posted soon)
8  - All booth participants will be set up and ready to be visited until 2pm
8:15  -  5K Walk starts and ends at Tamarack
9   -  Under Water Sweep near Lifeguard Station 37
9   -  Archisand, Pro Sand Sculptors near Lifeguard Station 37
9:30  -  Beach Clean-Up until 4pm
9:45  -  Kids One Mile Fun Run starts at Tamarack and ends near Lifeguard Station 38
10:15 -Winner Announcements at Lifeguard Station 38
