California Restaurant Association (CRA) is the oldest
restaurant association in America, representing many of the 90,000+ eating and drinking establishments in California.
In a recent survey, close to $60 billion in food and drink sales
annually proved that the industry is a driving force in both
the state employment and revenue sectors. New labeling in
foods and other legislation have changed the face of dining
in California. Unless stated, restaurants do not charge
service fees, so diners usually leave a tip of around15% of
food total. Most restaurants in tourist destinations adhere
to a California casual dress code. That usually means
wearing more than a swimsuit and wearing shoes.
