PF Chang's China Bistro is an Arizona based
chain restaurant with more than 30 Chang's
units in California. The company also owns PeiWei
restaurants featuring lighter faire.
PF Chang's takes great care into finding
locations in heavily trafficked areas around
shopping malls and destination attractions
so that it can capitalize on the existing
footprint to develop its loyal fans and
repeat audience, while still drawing in
one-time tourist visitors.
The
decor in
the
restaurant
include
high
beamed
ceilings,
luxury
wood
treatments,
usually
a built
in
visible
wine
rack
that
customers
can see,
and lots
of tile
and wood
veneers
on walls
and in
decor.
There's
always a
huge
signature
horse in
front of
the
restaurant.
The
larger
than
life
statue
is lit
at night
by
spotlights
so those
driving
by can
see the
restaurant
and find
it
easily.
For the spend-thrift, there are a few
items you can enjoy on P.F. Chang's
menu. Appetizer dishes can be quite filling,
depending on what you order. The lunch and
dinner menu entrees include ample portions
and are served fresh. While you walk in
hoping for snacks, the only thing you are
offered is a server asking you how you would
like your chili oils mixed for seasoning
your food. If you want anything, you have to
buy it on the P.F. Chang's menu and
philosophy, thus the bill for an individual
will seldom be less that around $12, and it
is usually more when you add a beverage to
the tab.
Every
person I
have
dined
with has
enjoyed
ordering
different
entrees
than me,
and we
split
them to
get a
variety. Definitely talk among your party and select items that you can share.
It's a fun way to get to know this delightful menu.
The
price of a lunch will cost you around $12 -25, and dinner is around $15-
30/person,
without
expensive
wine or
cocktails.
This is
not
cheap,
fast
food
Asian
dining.
The menu
boasts
exotic
sounding
dishes
that
utilize
less oil
than
other
similar
Chinese
or Asian
restaurants,
but
again,
the
amount
of oil
depends
on the
dish.
A
friend
ordered
an
Egglplant
entree
and her
face
dropped
when she
sampled
it. I
tried it
as well,
and it
was
filled
with too
much oil
and not
much
flavor.
The food
server
was very
nice
about
it, and
brought
another
selection
of the
friend's
choice.
Everything
I've
sampled
but the
eggplant
has been
great.
I've
tried
wraps,
chicken
& garlic
dishes,
you name
it.
There are over 25 PF Chang's China Bistro restaurants in
