California poinsettias
are the number one decoration for planters, wreaths, church altars and
restaurant tables during the Christmas holidays.
The wreath shown includes poinsettias that accent red glass bulbs, gold pine
cones, and red & gold ribbons and bows, all artfully combined and hung on the
door of an historic California home.
When purchasing poinsettias (those shown in photo are artificial) you will be
glad to know California is the Number One grower of poinsettias nationally. They
come in so many new colors that each year the Ecke growers in North San Diego
County, the largest growers in the state, release a featured holiday poinsettia
of a new variety.
Poinsettias grow well year-round in Southern California where it doesn't
normally freeze outside. They can blossom into trees over 20 feet tall if you
let them go.
But for holiday decor, the poinsettia is the perfect plant to celebrate
Christmas.
