California is an urban city located in the
County of
Orange in Southern California. It is one of the top tourist
destinations for family vacations primarily because of Disneyland Resorts. The
resorts include several Disney-owned hotels and two theme parks, Disneyland and
California Adventure. Anaheim has over 15 million visitors to Disneyland
annually. There are no beaches in Anaheim, and the nearest beaches are approx. a
25 minute drive away in Newport Beach or Seal Beach.
Getting to Anaheim: An Amtrak Train Station is in Anaheim at the parking lot
of the Angels Stadium. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Orange County
Airport (SNA) both offer shuttles or Airport Buses to Disneyland Resorts and
Anaheim.
Local Orange County bus service is provided by OCTA. There is also a local
Disneyland shuttle that charges a small fee.
Highways and roads include I-5 and 22 Freeway (Garden Grove Fwy). Major
streets are Harbor Boulevard and Katella.
Cities adjacent to or near Anaheim include Garden Grove, Fullerton,
Placentia, Orange and Buena Park.
While Anaheim is part of Southern California's
transverse ranges mountains, the city is mostly flat except for Anaheim
Hills.
